Bill: Sanctity of Marriage Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Pontesian National Conservative Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3102
Description[?]:
It is the opinion of the PNCA that the Pontesian government takes a recklessly apathetic position as to marriage. This bill seeks to reduce the number of capricious divorces by requiring grounded cause, recognize only those foreign marriages that adhere to Pontesian standards, and criminalize polygamy. |

The government's policy regarding foreign marriages.

Message | The PRP supports Articles 1 and 2 on religious grounds. Article 3 is highly questionable, we do not understand the purpose in creating victimless crimes. The crimes committed by the stereotypical polygamist are not matters of polygamy. |
Date | 22:16:04, April 06, 2011 CET | From | Pontesian National Conservative Alliance | To | Debating the Sanctity of Marriage Act |
Message | The PNCA strongly believes that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. We believe that polygamy is a sin and a slight against the moral values upon which our nation was founded. |

Message | The PRP recalls many instances of polygamy in the Torah and is of the opinion that polygamy has it's valid uses. Polygamy should perhaps not be encouraged but it should not be illegal. |

Message | Very well, then in the interests of passing Articles 1 and 2, we are prepared to drop Article 3 and submit this for a vote. |
