Bill: Respect for Hard Work Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Endralon

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2047

Description[?]:

Gambling facilities, most notably casinos, are a stain on the reputation of Endralon. We pride ourselves with our work ethic and our pro-labor legislation. We pride ourselves on rewarding hard work. But gambling allows certain individuals to amass great fortunes through no work whatsoever, while causing others to lose their lives' savings through no fault of their own. Gambling takes money from those who earned it and gives it to those who did not earn it. It is the antithesis of both social justice and meritocratic principles.

Furthermore, gambling can be addictive, trapping innocent victims in a vicious circle of despair.

Considering these facts, we hereby propose that gambling be outlawed in the Republic of Endralon.

MessageI agree that large scale commercially run gambling establishments are merely a tool to shift capital without risk nor work towards a central point.
