Bill: Prison Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: .

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3108

Description[?]:

Prisons need to prepare people for living on the outside again once they are released. Paying them a small wage would increase their motivation, as well as allowing them to raise funds which could be used to support their families, save up for their futures and compensate their victims. Likewise, education programmes should increase their confidence and build up their skills base.

MessageMr. Speaker,

This absurd! Prisoners should not be paid. They are prisoners not employees. This is not 'preparing them for the outside world again' its wasting our countries funds on scum that deserves to sit in prison.
