Description[?]:
Citizens and Politicians, Today we propose a controversial bill, to make Solentia a Secular State. We propose this because we can not let religion manipulate the governmental policies! To actully reach the stars and become the worlds most powerfull nation in the future we must work our way up. Religion is a "spare time" activity, it should not govern our work, politics, or future ambitions. No more techer led prayers in school, or encouragement of foreign religions to spread their claims of spiritual superiority. We do not denounce that it might excist some God or power in the univers, or that people can belive what they want, but we dont want our country to be in a everlasting pumping religious state of mind. Science is what should be teached at school, not our state religion or foreign religions. That can be studied in their spare time. To become productive and prosperious we believe this is the way to go. The Laws: Proposition 1: Forbid foreign missionaries from entering our country. We have no need for them, and internet and libraries can provide this information. As in proposition 3 where we also forbid organized religions to missonary, promote and advertice themselfs. Proposition 2: The reason for this proposal is to stop extremist personalities to affect great masses of people. This decition will never be done easily, and has to prove that the person is seen as a danger to the public. This evidence has to be proven in court. Proposition 3: Organized religions should not be allowed to promote or advertise for themselfs. As mentioned earlier this information can be seeked at both libraries and internet. It is also perfectly legal to attend to the religious houses to get guidance if needed. We still want to let individuals have the freedome of speech, and are therefor allowed to evangelism. Proposition 4: Religious schools are not allowed since we believe that the school education should be decided by the government to ensure top quality schools that prioriteses the needs of the country, not the needs of religious groups. Proposition 5: Remuneration of ministers of religion will not be awarded any remuneration for their work. As mentioned our vision is that religion is a "spare time" subject. Proposition 6: Teacher led prayers should be strictly illegal. The problem is that this affects many things, first of it can be discriminating towards other religions if combined with proposition 4. If religions schools are finaly to be banned it is not right that 1 religion is favored in schools. Also we believe that parents should guide their child to religions, and not the state. It is not our job to spread religious propaganda! Proposition 7. The last and most important proposition in our eyes, to abolish the state religion. To really prosper into the future, the state religion must be removed. To unite us to one unit, religion should not stand between us. Religion should not, ever again deside anything within our nation again. I thank you for reading our bill. May our country grow strong and unite! -Julia Nicoletti, Spokeswoman (INF) |

Message | Although this bill has good parts in it, issues of free speech makes it impossible for us to support it. |
Date | 12:40:32, April 29, 2011 CET | From | Imperial Nunc Futurum (CFu) | To | Debating the Secularisation of Solentia |
Message | This bill does not destroy free speech. The only thing it really does is to stop religious organizations to get power in any ways. Individual evangelism is still allowed, and nothing is done with personal belief. We encourage you to reconcider. This law is only ment to remove religion as a political factor, and to ensure proper growth of power in the society. -Julia Nicoletti, Spokeswoman for Education and Culture (INF) |
