Bill: Idealist Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: PlatoIdealist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 3117
Description[?]:
The legislation is in need of reform for the safety of our nation. Proposal 1 - It is ludicrous that a national has to qualify for citizenship. There are hierarchies when it comes to personal abilities. We should not hinder the less educated or the less fortunate souls from achieving the pride of pertaining to their country. Proposal 2 - Private defense industries are a threat to the lives of citizens. The government should ensure that defense experts within the government itself are responsible for keeping the lives of the people safe. Privatization of defense may also lead to abuse and violence. Proposal 3 - Covert Operations always lead to the country being blemished with scandalous accusations. If our central intelligence is limited to surveillance, then the result of such an intelligence is reached without any abuses - that the citizens of Aloria are safe. With underground operations, we may lead our country to a dangerous and hazardous threat. Proposal 4 - The use of land mines is a sophisticated task and may be hazardous to civilians. It is important that the government and its technology monitors their use so that no lives are in peril. Land mines within our borders may lead to unwanted deaths and even friendly deaths. It is of vital importance that the government knows where the land mines are and where they can be used - even for the environment's sake. Proposal 5 - Requirement in times of war is never the healthiest option with regards our civilians. Due to today's technology, having more men is not necessarily an advantage in war. Besides this, having civilians posted as infantry in war may reduce the level of honor in men since they do not go by choice. A man chooses to go to war because he is fit to go to war and wants to serve his country militarily. Not all citizens are prepared for this. Proposal 6 - Having paramilitaries around without any kind of monitoring is an intense and dangerous situation which will likely lead to abuse and friendly fire. The government has to have some kind of control over paramilitaries in order to ensure that government interest is being promoted and since most of the time paramilitaries act on account of economic benefit. Thank you, PlatoIdealist Party President, David Samuel Hudson. |
