Details

Submitted by[?]: Hosian-Konservative Allianz

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3119

Description[?]:

The Kommunistische Partei Dorvik believes that the government should not fully subsidize tuition because it promotes a lack of competitiveness between students and causes a decreased standard in high education, which we at this stage cannot afford. Kommunistische Partei Dorvik Central Committee Education Secretary Nicholas Brusilov has been a driving force behind this legislation and asks that the KPU and VP support this bill as it is for the success of the nation.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Dorvik should retain the principle that tuition should be free of charge. Charging students for education will deter those coming from poorer backgrounds.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We were prepared to counter that, we will gladly add a Sub-Article which stipulates that anyone from poorer backgrounds can apply for financial aide and based on their need, will have money given to them, hence the ability to fully subsided certain tuitions. Plus, it will put money back into the economy.

MessageMr Speaker,

The Volkspartei completely opposes this bill! We fully support the principle of free education, as it promotes equality of opportunity, that no matter your wealth you can have the exact same chance of making it into university. We cannot take that away from our young people.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We understand the principle of a free education but when you hand the people such things, they do not give their full effort towards it, and we know that the future of Dorvik is reliant on the future generations...and lazy generations aren't the key to success.

MessageMr Speaker,

I am shocked, absolutely shocked at the right honourable spokesperson from the KPD at the insinuation that our young people do not work hard! They already work hard to achieve the grades to get into University, the extra stress of how to pay for it, can they pay for it is ludicrous and absurd! I suggest the KPD spokesperson retracts their comment, lest they lose the support of the youth of this nation who work hard day in day out during their school years to secure a place at university!

MessageMr. Speaker,

I have not at all attacked our youths work ethic, if anything they have been perfect in their quest for higher knowledge, as Finance Minister I believe you can state that the government cannot continuously fund every single students tuition. Let's be entirely honest, those who can afford it should pay for their own which allows money to be put into the university and therefore allows them to pay their taxes instead of being entirely state funded...something which at this moment we need.

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset.
