Message | Does the DSP not feel that it is important to prevent a potential flow of arms into the hands of states which have adopted an aggressive stance towards Beiteynu? Why should we allow our defence industries to arm anyone who has the money to pay? This is particularly worrisome with the introduction of private defence industries, which could then trade with our enemies even if it's against the national interest. Additionally, which paramilitaries do the DSP seek to grant "full privileges"? At present, only well-regulated citizens' militias are permitted as part of the defence system of our nation. What privileges that are currently lacking would be granted to these other paramilitaries? We are not necessarily against increasing the role of the military in the policing of our nation, but we would first like to hear why the DSP feels it is necessary at this time. The same goes for the expansion of the powers of our intelligence agency. |

Message | Many centuries ago, what is now the Royal Kafuri Company, a Beiteynuese company, introduced a top secret device which can remotely disable the weapons systems that it is incorporated into. We can profit greatly from exporting weapons for a variety of purposes. We will hopefully know our true enemies well enough to embargo them before they threaten us. The expansion of powers of our intelligence agency will help us to expect future invasions and possible threats. At this time we may not need to increase the role of our military in policing but we should not be delayed in doing so when we really need to. The empowerment of the paramilitaries is for much the same purpose as the policing powers of the military, to be better prepared. The privileges are many and among them is not to be dependent on bureaucracy in case of emergency. |
