MessageWe can't support the RP part. We could support the actual proposal if it were stand-alone, but even if someone is unwilling to work, we think that person should get the very basic subsistence income. We could also support the current relatively generous minimum income and then a RP part that if someone refuses to work he is dropped to the very basic subsistence income.

But we can't support an Ikradonian being made hungry or homeless even if he is unwilling to work.

MessageSo someone should earn something, even if he does nothing at all? Doesn't work, doesn't contribute, and we have to pay them?!

MessageThe alternative is that they are hungry and homeless, and that is not an acceptable fate for any law-abiding Ikradonian in our view.

Heck, they'd be better off in prison, where they get food and a roof over their head and are not required to work, so you're giving them an incentive to turn to crime.

MessageChances are they would be too lazy to resort to crime.

MessageThe fact would remain, even in the rare cases in which that might be true, that combined with our prison laws that do not require prisoners to work, laziness would be considered a more serious crime than murder. Something is wrong there.

MessageThat is a fallacy, so is the SDMEP also stating that Suicide is a more serious crime than Theft?!

Then I propose that a prison-motel be created for these slackers, either that or mandatory civil service, or social service.

Random quote: "The great economic, social and political scientist, Karlstein Metz, accurately predicted over 2,500 years ago that capitalism is doomed to destruction by its inherent weaknesses and contradictions, and must inevitably be replaced by a communist form of social, political and economic organisation." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician
