Message | We oppose the articles that involve privatisation, as well as those that enable the testing of something as inessential as cosmetics on animals. We feel that the media should be fully independent and free from either corporate or central government control. If you like, we would support a measure to remove government funding for the independent media cooperatives to make them even more independent. Also, isn't making international media content free from regulation in effect the same thing as putting it under the same regulation as our media? The only exceptions would be false information and hate speech. We also feel that, in an area like space exploration, the government must maintain full control over all activities of the national space agency. There is no reason why private companies should profit from space exploration, as that could have seriously distorting effects on the entire endeavour. We should not bring greed to the stars. We do support the legality of cloning technologies, e.g. the cloning of embryos in order to support the research of cutting-edge medical technologies. There is much promise in such research for cures for cancer and other serious medical conundrums. |

Message | We were expecting that the regulations would be made to restrict the testing of cosmetics on animals to cosmetics for animals. We would be willing to consider keeping the current system while allowing private media to exist alongside it. We are interested by the prospect of foreign media investing in our market. Deregulation of international media would have little effect but we see no problem in making it official. We are going to consider the issue of space exploration further in light of a petition delivered to our party council. We are glad to see that our parties agree on certain policies. |
