Bill: Prostitution

Details

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 3130

Description[?]:

The Social Democratic Legend Party wish prostitution to be legalised in Baltusia. Yes, it is not the most pleasant career but no matter how much people prefer to pretend it doesn't it DOES exist! What we must recognise is that it is NOT BY CHOICE that people get in to it. Many young people are forced to do it because they are DESPERATE and it is their only choice to SURVIVE! What good does making it illegal do? Does it eradicate it? NO. does it keep it off the street? NO. We have to help the people involved in this to help themselves out of it. It is likely that we can never remove it completely but we can reduce it. By legalising it it means legitimate places can open so that the prostitutes are not on the street. This is for them and our society. It also means they can be cured of any diseases they contract. They can also earn money legitimately, giving them a greater chance of getting out of this lifestyle. As well as this the police will not waste time moving them and spend it on actually solving real crimes. By making it legitimate criminality will also be reduced! Also, the reason for it to be recognised as a profession is so that they are given no disadvantage in getting another, better job except those by the individual employer. The Government may also make money from these businesses which can be reinvested in community projects and social work that will help those in prostitution.

Messageim sorry but for one reason we have all the social security net weaved for years, the free housing and school, and the state owned industries, there is no reason to fall into prostitution except being a parasite, at least in this country

MessageIt's not purely economic. Many young people run away from home and are forced to live on the street with no way of earning money. They cannot receive any of these benefits, such as housing, without a job. Therefore we allow them to have a legitimate job the only way they can!

Messagenot good enough, and it is free housing, as in free no money. The state should provide for these homeless kids, by giving them housing, studies and food
