Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvik Christlich Partai

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3130

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

The Christlich Partai is not fond of the current policy that local governance is handeled by a mayor single handidly. They say that man can only follow a single leader. That is, however, not practical, when every man and woman is tainted by sin. Therefore a group consensus is better option.

The Christlich Partai proposes that municipal councils exercise mayoral powers.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Local councils only add to the beaucracy that threatens to strangle effective government. By allowing the election of a single appointed Mayor, we believe that it keeps them more accountable than what could be accused of as a result of being a group failing to reach a consensus.

Vereinigt Dorvik is therefore FOR the appointment of locally elected Mayors, who appoint their own staff.
