Bill: (3139) Introduction to ban ABC-weapons

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvik Christlich Partai

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3130

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

The Christlich Partai finds it detestable that Dorvik has a policy to develop, construct and store biological and chemical weapons. This is against humanity and will of God; it is not our place to act as God. By our actions or in-actions we are all going to be judged.

Therefore the party demands that Dorvik immidiately outlaw any and all materials and transactions regarding atomic, biological and chemical weapons.

MessageMr Speaker,

It is a necessity in these uncertain days for our nation to store such weapons. When other nations - many of them our close neighbours - have such weapons ready to use, we, too, need them as a deterrent. We cannot possibly put our nation's safety at risk. As such, we must reject this bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

I dare the Right Honorable Gentleman to remember that we wash our hands before this multitude and say: We are innocent of the blood in this see ye to it.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Does a bullet also not quantify the ability to take life? But we don't see the Dorvik Christlich Partai advocating these be banned as well. Our position is simple, while others have it we must also to act as a deterrent.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The Right Honorable Gentleman is indeed correct. However, ethics and human rights are a process, which (hopefully) leads to the absolute virtue. In some countries this process somewhat less evolved than others. A country penal system can include capital punishment, whilst in others there have been found a way to minimize crime by social advances.

The Christlich Partai had viewed Dorvik being as one of latter rather than former. International understanding is acheived not by fear of others, but finding ways to understand our differences. When there is no need to fear about mass destruction it can open entirely new opportunities to resolve matter without conflicts and perhaps then the Christlich Partai will advocate - hopefully side by side even with Vereinigt Dorvik - a better firearm legislation.
