Bill: Constitutional Amendments 3133

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Party of Dolgava

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3134

Description[?]:

The following regulations of the Constitution shall be changed.

Article 5 and 6 are corrections in terms of grammar, not their meaning. This has been supported by the discovery of an ancient Latvian grammar book, which states these things very clearly.

Article 7 - a recent discovery lets us assume, that out forefathers have addressed regions or provinces with the name of Novads.

Any questions? We are gladly willing to answer them.

MessageSo for the Head of State title: the DPD seems much more familiar with Dolgaria's ancient roots than the PGP, so we're not questioning the validity of the title "Prezidents". The PGP has had a long history (occasionally interrupted) of holding the Head of State position. During that time the position has always been called "Vadītājs". Perhaps we could compromise with "Prezidents un Vadītājs"? (OOC: does that make sense? It's really no big deal, vadītājs just sounds cool to me)

MessageWe do not insist that the Head of State should be called Prezidents, therefore also Vadītājs seems to be acceptable. What does the PGP think of an more honorable title of Virsaitis? This has currently been added to the bill.

Virsaitis means the leader of a tribe or a general leader with a respectable statue. While this might have some connection to monarchic structures of our forefathers, it is more to be seen as an honorary status, a title devoted to a leader of the nation.

OOC: It is obvious, that Prezidents means President, but Vadītājs means leader in a general term. For example, Veikala vadītājs (would translate into head of a shop), nodaļas vadītājs (head of a department), etc.

MessageThe PGP agrees heartily with the suggestion of Virsaitis. We will certainly vote yes.
