Bill: Immigration Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Labour Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3143

Description[?]:

This Act is vital to the preservation of the economic viability of the Holy Luthori Empire.

We further propose that the Imperial Office of Domestic Security (ODS) should have the authority both to place a cap on immigration and to halt any and all immigration if it perceives the overwhelming Luthorian ethnic majority is threatened.

MessageRather than the current racist immigration laws, this bill grants entry to those who have something to contribute to the economic development of this nation.

This bill, if passed, allows us to take the best professionals from across the world and build a stronger, more vibrant economy with them.

I urge everyone to vote for this bill. Vote for a stronger Luthor for your children and your children's children.

MessageMr Speaker,

We remind the DLP to please use the appropriate terms "Mr Speaker" and "I yield". While we understand the DLP's arguments, we are concerned about a sudden influx of foreigners into Luthori. it is of vital importance that ethnic Luthorians remain an overwhelming majority in Luthori. Indeed ethnic Luthorians are superior to all other people, indeed many of Terra's inhabitants once hailed from Luthori (people from Mordusia, Deltaria, etc).

I yield.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We would tend to agree that there is a need to control immigration. However, we disagree that immigration should be conditional on ethnicity. We feel that it is more appropriate to use qualification as a condition for entry to this nation.

I yield

MessageMr Speaker,

While the DLP's argument is valid, it does not address our concerns about the danger to the Luthorian ethnic majority.

I yield.

MessageMr Speaker,

We propose that a cam be maintained on immigration and immigrants be admitted on a basis of filling skills shortages in our economy. Furthermore, we propose that the government should reserve the right to halt immigration if the majority Luthorian population is at risk.

MessageMr Speaker,

That would be an acceptable compromise. If the DLP amends the bill to allow the Imperial Office of Domestic Security (ODS) both to place a cap on immigration and to halt any and all immigration if it perceives the overwhelming Luthorian ethnic majority is threatened, we can support this bill.

I yield.
