Bill: Batas Pambansa Blg. 12: Withdrawal from the Unione Italiana

Details

Submitted by[?]: Genuine Progress Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3159

Description[?]:

This bill aims to withdraw the Republic of Aloria from the Unione Italiana. We acknowledge that it is a peaceful treaty and it seeks to promote better Italian cultural understanding.

However, it has been decided that the treaty is unnecessarily costly for the government to handle mainly due to its provision of conducting a yearly meeting in the Republic of Aloria. Apart from that, the current text of the treaty is largely outdated and has not been properly executed in the past years, especially with the dissolution of the party that initiated the treaty. Also, we believe that this government should not give too much focus on one particular culture.

We are also concerned with the treaty being more of a mutual defense pact with fellow signatories rather than being a treaty of cultural exchange, as seen by the lack of description on information about how Italian culture would be promoted.
