Bill: Batas Pambansa Blg. 13: Withdrawal from the Treaty of Cooperation among Football (Soccer)-playing Nations
Details
Submitted by[?]: Genuine Progress Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 3159
Description[?]:
This bill aims to withdraw the Republic of Aloria from the Treaty of Cooperation among Football (Soccer)-playing Nations. The nation still values football (soccer) as a sport, along with other sports in this nation including the national sport of arnis. However, we believe that the treaty is more of a treaty of passion for football above anything else. We are particularly skeptical with the provision in the treaty which states, "Countries which ratify this treaty agree that football/soccer is indeed the 'beautiful game'". This kind of mindset puts the government in an unnecessary position wherein it would have to give much promotion of the sport above any other sports in Aloria, instead of promoting as many sports as possible to help make citizens physically fit and develop properly as individuals. We are also skeptical with the provision that states, "Competitions between national teams and league teams in the nations should be encouraged". This promotes government intervention in major league baseball games when it is supposed to be a private business. |
