Bill: Separation of Church and State Act of 3181

Submitted by[?]: Chann National Party (CNP)
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3182
Description[?]:
Government should have no jurisdiction regarding religion and religion should have no jurisdiction regarding government. The wall of separation does not exist to suppress either, but to protect both from a relationship that would otherwise result in the oppression of the people. Freedom of religion is prized in this country, therefore government nor religion should seek to abridge that freedom. |

Message | This is a great bill. Church and State should be strictly seperated. We applaud the CDP for several well written bills. -Grace S. Lough LUC Chancellor |

Message | Labour is uncompromising on the issue of respecting the freedom of ALL citizens of Solentia. The religious beliefs and values of any religious sect, the fact that they might be a majority of people notwithstanding, should not legislate morality for the nation-at-large. Religious factions must be respected in their right to privacy and right to exist freely, but they must not exercise unfair influence in government. Labour will staunchly support this bill. Random fact: Characters are considered to be "owned" by the player who first mentioned or created them. In practice, players may share responsibility for role-playing a character, but ultimate authority rests with the owner. |
Random quote: "I worked at a factory owned by Germans, at coal pits owned by Frenchmen, and at a chemical plant owned by Belgians. There I discovered something about capitalists. They are all alike, whatever the nationality. All they wanted from me was the most work for the least money that kept me alive. So I became a communist." - Nikita Khrushchev |
