MessageThe current policy leaving this to local governments is inefficient. Local governments do not have the collective resources and bargaining power that the federal government does. Investing in large public national works would bring the following benefits:

1. Increased employment in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
2. The creation of good paying jobs.
3. The injection of huge amounts of money into the national economy.
4. The improvement of national infrastructure, which will raise the general standard of living.

We call on all parties to offer amendments or their support. This legislation will benefit businesses, workers, and taxpayers alike. We encourage an aye vote.
