MessageMr Speaker;

For far too long has the state felt it incumbent upon itself to interfere in the purely private matter of the relationship between a citizen and his god or gods. This practice is offensive to teh individual, as it implies that he is incapable of making a rational choice without protection; as well as harmful to the state, by enlarging it where no need exists. We of the RLP therefore propose that adult citizens of our fair land be allowed to act as adults, and worship as they please!

MessageMr Speaker,

This is completely outrageus. There are approxamitely 40 000 000 Likatonians who are secular and do not believe in any God. They do not want openly religious advertising taking away from their daily lives, and do not which to have religious inteference in their lives. We have a duty to protect our citizens from dangerous religions and need to have the ability to fulfill that duty to our citizens. We are currently at war with a fanatical religious organization, the AAPK from Kafuristan, who may attempt to start religious practises in our great country if these laws are shot down. We will vote heavily against this bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

These 40 000 000 secular Likatonians are adults, who can make up their own minds about listening to any advertising they may come across. If standards suggested by my honorable representative from the LUP were the norm, then all advertisements for meat products should be banned because of the vegatarians in our land. Further, who are we to determine what is a 'dangerous' religion. It has been rightly said that a cult is any religion sufficiently different from ones own. Let the ideas marketplace decide, and let freedom ring from the pulpits of our land!

MessageMr. Speaker,

It is outrageus for the honorable representative from the AM to suggest that having religions openly advertise will result in more freedoms. We do not stop people from believing in any faith, but we do stop those faiths from crowding and abusing the grand majority of Likatonians who do not want to be bothered by these relgious groups.

Article 1 is also completely unneeded. The state must be able to stop dangerous preachers who are voted in by a small group of people to put their will in front of the people. We must be able to stop dangerous preachers who risk the culture and secular nature of Likatonians from becoming ministers.

The LUP are also strongly opposed to Article 3. Ministers should volunteer their time to the faith, it should not be paid by the taxpayers, the majority of whom are not believers in any religion. Why should these people payt he salary of men who do nothing for them or their country.

This bill is completely against the wishes of the majority of Likatonians, and the LUP will never support it.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Before putting this measure up for a vote, we wish to correct the member from the LUP on one point. Article 3 does not require the taxpayers to pay ministers, it only allows the congregation to do so if they wish.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We stand corrected in our opinion with Article 3. That being said, we strongly oppose Articles 1, 2 and 4.
