| The Konservative Reichspartei puts forward a motion to activate military service on our nation. Military service is profitable for everyone! Our powerful and advanced armed forces receives extra recruits to fill her ranks, assuring no other nation will be foolish enough to attack us. Young and able men get a lesson in physical exercise and discipline, making them more suitable for the modern society. By training them physically we also further fight against obesity and other health problems that can be traced back to lack of exercise. Another huge benefit is that a very large percentage of our citizens will know the basics of the military, how to use weapons, vehicles etc. If our nation ever gets at war, these men can be quickly called up to defend our proud nation. However, if these people are for whatever reason unable to fulfill their military service, this can be either a handicap, health problems or personal beliefs (eg. pacifism), this person can choose to do civic duties. Helping the lesser fortunate in the nation for a certain period of time. |

Current: All adults upon completion of schooling can be required in times of war to serve a term in the military.
Proposed: All adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option.

Nobody is forced to serve in the military, you have the right to choose between serving in our great armed forces or help out the people in need as a civilian in national service. I don't see how helping the elderly with their groceries is militaristic slavery! |
