Bill: Religious Advertising Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: United Liberal Alliance
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2147
Description[?]:
Whilst we understand the sentiments involved in passing the current law which bans all forms of religious advertising and evangelism, we feel that we should change the law to allow envangelism by individuals. That way, individuals will be able to preach their religion, whilst avoiding perhaps the more 'commercially minded' religious advertising that parties were concerned about. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change Government policy towards evangelism and religious advertising.
Old value:: Religions are not permitted to promote themselves or advertise in any manner whatsoever.
Current: Religions are required to obtain government approval before promoting themselves or advertising in any manner.
Proposed: Religious organizations are not permitted to actively promote themselves or advertise, however evangelism is permitted by individuals.

Message | If this passes we will move to repeal the tax on religious institutions. If they are to be treated like a company, then lets do that, otherwise we should allow them latitude |

Message | No....religion is a different matter. We will tax them like a company, and at the same time not allow them to advertise their religion. And i'm assuming Evangelism is the stuff i see on TV on sundays...right? |

Message | Well, to me evangelism is just the ability to promote one's religion - we get the odd person on the street handing out little leaflets or talking about their religion etc. But yes it could i suppose include the stuff on TV (don't get it in the UK so don't know) |

Message | As long as it's on a private televion channel or radio....that is fine. So long as the community, is allowed to kick them out without question, i am fine with it. But no commercials...and no missionaries. |
