Bill: Release the poor from unnecessary taxation

Details

Submitted by[?]: AM Radical Libertarian Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3206

Description[?]:

Whereas:

The poorest members of our society spend most, if not all, of their hard earned wages on essential goods such as food, clothing, and shelter;

And they are the hardest hit in any economic downturn, as well as meing most likely to be employeed in retail trade;

Therefore:

We propose that the sales tax on essential goods be eliminated. This would only reduce the 15 million Lik surplus by under 2 million, give the poor greater disposable income, and stimulate retail trade in these goods.

At this point, we will retain the 5% tax on Luxery goods, while reserving the right to revisit this tax at a later date.
