Bill: Local Housing Initiative
Details
Submitted by[?]: Solentian Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2147
Description[?]:
Understanding the Solentian Republic should work towards providing all its citizens with safe and affordable housing, but accepting there are massive differences in regional needs and available resources, Parliament hereby delegates control over housing policy to local authorities, being more suited to the task. In many areas, it may be necessary and beneficial for local government to provide social housing, providing both shelter and work, whereas in more prosperous neighbourhoods such policies may be redundant. By this measure, the Republic hopes to strike a balance, resulting in a radical yet pragmatic alternative. |
