Message | Mr. Speaker, We cannot accept many of these Articles. Articles 3 and 5 have been show to heavily increase criminal activity in other areas, while drug use leads to unhealthy mental states and serious problems in social life and activities. We will never accept pornography as a business, and we will never allow any drug use in our great nation. In regards to Article 1, this is completely wrong. Animals cannot have a say, and so any sexual relations are completely inappropriate and morally wrong. This Article must be scrapped. Morally, we cannot agree with Article 2, but in the name of political compromise, we would accept that. Similarly with Article 4, so long as the government may regulate the situation with prostitutes to make sure that criminal activity does not increase. Also, we would like to note Mr. Speaker, that although the citizens may be responsible for their own bodies, we are responsible for the betterment of the entire nation and society. And if allowing indivuduals bodily freedom will harm other's freedom or morality, we will consider it wrong. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, In the interest of compromise, we have removed Article 1, and modified Article 2(previously Article 3) to allow government regulation of pornography. While we see no problems with the original intent, we acknowledge that others may view it in a different light. The previous Article 5, now Article 4, however we feel strongly about and have not seen any sufficient reason to amend. The last comment by my learned opponent is at the crux of the difference in our theories of government. We of the RLP do not believe that we are directly responsible for the betterment of society, but that we are responsible for creating conditions in which each individual is responsible for the betterment of society. Further, none of the articles, with the possible exception of the remover Article 1, allow anyone to harm another's freedom or morality; only thier own. |

Message | Mr Speaker, Although this is a step in the right direction, and although we may support several points of this legislation, we have a very difficult time facing Article 4. Drugs have been shown to cause bodily harm, and inhibit our citizen's mentality over questions of morality. Having completely unregulated drug use will not only cause higher crime rates and more drug-related deaths, but it will corrupt the morality of our great nation. |

Message | Mr. Speaker; While we will agree that SOMETIMES drug use may cause bodily harm, and change, not necessarily inhibit, the mentality over morality; so do many other things, and it is an adult citizen's right to choose if he or she wishes to take that risk. This will not corrupt our morality, but enhance it by allowing citizens to choose moral actions, rather than having them forced on themselves. The only true moral act is one which is taken freely, without coercion, because it is the right thing to do. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Perhaps the current legislation is too rough, but we think that the government must keep some control over the health of our citizens. Is there any chance that this Article could be lessened in strength? |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Having already removed one article and watered down another, we feel that we cannot in good conscience go any further on this issue. Therefore, we move that this bill be brought to a vote. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols. |
