Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal-Progressive Union
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2150
Description[?]:
The amount of money spent on public schools, can instead be used as vouchers for disadvantaged students who cannot afford the low cost of private schools . Public schools are failing our students, the percentage of students who move on to a higher education is dangerously low. Private schools provide a better atmosphere for learning, and the quality of the teaching staff is better and they can identify, and provide the specific need that every student has that a public school cannot identify. Private school vouchers allow every student to attend, and it would be a disgrace to this government to prevent a student from receiving a better education. |

Message | Private schools are better for our students. I wish you would have an open mind about this. |

Message | The question is whether private schools will stay in disadvantaged areas and if they do will they be able to give better care? We would also like more details of the voucher scheme as well as the assurance that the National Curriculum will be kept in place for private schools as an outline of what needs to be taught. |

Message | We do not believe that private schools provide a better quality of education. Private schools are able to maintain their position at the height of educational ability by only allowing the entrance of those they deem to have reached their educational standards (or mummy and daddy know the head teacher and can pay shedloads). Using Government money to provide education to private schools, which operate for profit, would not reduce the costs of education, nor does it guarantee any improvement in educational standards. Class sizes would rise as the number of pupils (different form students as students are those engaged outside of full-time compulsory education) increases in those private schools with an equivalent change in the teaching abiltiy of teaching staff as they are forced to deal with as many pupils as they would in any pubic school. Rather than using this money to give to profiteering schools, the money would be better spent encouraging more students to train in teaching and join public schools to reduce class sizes and thusly improve educational standards. Private schools are not the answer. |

Message | No. Voucher programs have all historically failed to adequately provide education to the underpriveleged. And if we throw enough money at education, then they public schools are just as good as private. Cutting public education is irresponsible and dangerous. |

Message | No, not even going to give a reason. No. |

Message | There is no reason for private schooling in Hobrazia. The public school system is working out fine. It assures every citizen a general education platform. HHP sayss no. |
Date | 20:57:10, December 03, 2005 CET | From | Left Communist Party | To | Debating the Private Education Enabling Act. |
Message | No. There is NO proof that public schools have been failing students, there is NO proof that the proposed system would work, and this is an extremely unnecessary measure that would harm everyone but the richer classes. We urge all parties to vote NO on this bill. |
