Current: Extradition to nations with capital punishment or with cruel or inhumane treatment of suspects and convicts is not allowed.
Proposed: The law bars the government from extraditing anyone who is a citizen of the state.

Message | Yes, but extradition is generally for people who have committed crimes in other countries, not our own country. If they haven't committed a crime in this country, we cannot punish them here. Therefore, if the country where they allegedly committed the crime wants the accused person returned for prosecution, this should be an option. |
