Message | The AAS is willing to support this legislation... despite the fact that it means turning our back on our OWN legislation, which initially installed the 'necessary measures' clause. |

Message | Why shut down a part of the market? Necessary precautions to ensure the safety of owners have already been taken, and I highly doubt enough people will want to have wild animals for pets that it will cause environmental harm. This is a trade that the government shouldn't intervene in. |

Message | Is it really a necessary trade? These animals a purely a luxury, a status symbol perhaps and the cost is the loss of freedom of these noble animals. We are not concerned with the impact on humans (ie taking precautions to ensure they don't escape), ore that this is an unecessary impact on the environment for the sake of personal vanity and amusement. |
