Message | As minister of Justice, I call a coalition vote on this bill. |
Date | 21:06:15, November 30, 2011 CET | From | Conservative Party of Solentia | To | Debating the Illegal immagration act of 3219 |
Message | "Mr. Senate Warden, If the current government pushes through this inhumane piece of legislation, the CPS will support no subsequent government proposal which includes a PSCP candidate as Minister of Justice. Indeed, we question whether or not this legislation falls within the purview of the Justice ministry at all, and so urge our colleagues to vote in the negative on this bill. I yield." Message | It clearly falls under the Minister of Justice's control. What else could it fall under? And we shouldn't just let people into the country. What if they are running from the law and are running into our country to flee? |

Message | "Mr. Senate Warden, The CPS is of the opinion that this particular piece of legislation should fall under the purview of the Internal Affairs Ministry (as it is police who would be called upon to execute the searchs, and the Justice Ministry does not control the police but rather the courts, which I needn't remind the Minister are certainly two very separate entities;) or, arguably, the Foreign Affairs Ministry, since matters as delicate as the arrest and expulsion of foreign nationals are certain to require the Foreign Minister's oversight. Additionally, this legislation has nothing to do with 'letting people into the country,' as the unnamed PSCP spokesperson claims, but instead has everything to do with the treatment of those who are already inside Solentia's borders. Certainly those found to be fleeing justice must be dealt with as according to Solentia's laws on extradition, but the search for a few fugitive criminals does not warrant the widespread, indiscriminate search of every household suspected of harboring those of foreign birth. In specific cases where warranted, the CPS agrees that international fugitives ought to be searched for and apprehended according to law, but not every foreigner is a criminal, and they ought not be treated as such without reasonable suspicion of criminal activity. I yield and maintain my opposition to this proposal." Jack Hawthorne |

Message | We strongly oppose this proposal, but in that it is a coalition vote we reluctently support it for stability in the nation. But we will be active in it's repeal. |

Message | "Mr. Senate Warden, The CPS condemns the abhorrent loyalty of the ULC to coalition over nation. We have provided and clarified our manifold arguments against the current legislation, and have issued our ultimatum. It is clear that the PSCP and the ULC cannot be trusted to put good governance over maintenance of their own power and thus cannot be trusted. The CPS shall naturally not forget this injustice which borders on treason. I implore all other parties to cast a symbolic 'nay' vote in the face of PSCP/ULC back-door politics, and yield the floor." Message | OOC: This would, and actually does fall under justice. If you look up the laws, illegal alien laws will show up under justice; clearly making this a justice bill. Even if it was a foriegn affairs bill I could still call a coalition vote on it since my party has the minister of foreign affairs. |

Message | OOC: The legislation headings are just for organization purposes, police fall under the purview of the interior ministry not the justice ministry, we've RPed it this way in the past. Justice is the court system and the Supreme Court, Interior is the police forces, etc. Either way it doesn't matter because it's going to pass. |

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost. |
