Message | OOC: We really shouldn't have given a party that had taken mayors hostage cabinet seats... |
Date | 23:49:58, December 01, 2011 CET | From | Anarkosyndikalisterna | To | Debating the Cabinet Proposal of May 3221 |
Message | We urge the other parties to vote against this anti-democratic attempt to deprive the supporters of Kazulia's largest party of any representation. The mayors were taken prisoner only because they were unelected and because KNA refused to allow local people to have a say over how their communities are governed. |

Message | The law did not require the mayors to be elected. Threatening to murder innocent civil servants because you disagree with the the legitimately legislated mayoral selection process isn't something that the parties of Kazulia should support. We were unaware that disagreement over legislative positions was a legitimate reason to hold people hostage. If so, the KNA could probably find many things to start taking hostages over considering the current state of Kazulian legislation. The KNA, however, will not be taking any such action because we respect the rule of law and know how to behave responsibly in a democratic state (and yes, we are a democratic state aside from the monarchy and a few other minor positions). The Anarkosyndikalisterna seems to feel they have the right to take violent action whenever another party disagrees with their positions and should not be rewarded for doing so. MP/LDP: Check the Kazulian Royal Defence Council. |

Message | We stated that the mayors would be a potential target, not that they would be murdered. As you should know none of the mayors were harmed, they were simply detained so as to prevent them from carrying out their duties (which they had no business to be doing in the first place since they were unelected). The right of people to elect the local officials who rule over them is more than simply a "disagreement over legislative positions" - it is about the fight between democracy and despotism. We are pleased that the former won, not least through the brave actions of our supporters in Sør-Trøndelag. |

Message | Declaring mayors "potential targets" implies a threat to their lives IMO. What else were you going to do? Hole up with them in their offices indefinitely? The law did not require they be elected. Therefore, your actions were illegitimate and illegal. Responsibility for the KAC "victory" lies more with the portions of the political establishment that were willing to show restraint than it does with the "brave" law breaking of your more thuggish supporters. Your strike would've been easily crushed had we had less concern for the lives of innocent Kazulian citizens. |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
Random quote: "Capitalism demands the best of every man- his rationality- and rewards him accordingly. It leaves every man free to choose the work he likes, to specialize in it, to trade his product for the products of others, and to go as far on the road of achievement as his ability and ambition will carry him." - Ayn Rand |
