Description[?]:
The Working Persons Tax Credit will shift the balance of taxation from individual consumers to corporations. Our Party wishes to present a moderate and affordable programme, which will benefit the great majority of the population without damaging our national economy. Whether countries pursue flat or progressive systems of taxation, it is generally ignored that the levying of tax from individual citizens is horribly inefficient, causing general misery and hardship. The choice between world-class public services and alleviating the burden of taxation need not be so difficult as it is often presented. But we do need to make tough choices. Sales taxes, while appropriate, are often used by governments to shore up their anti-inflationary policies, hitting middle-income citizens and hampering the consumer market. In the case of essential goods and services, sales taxes are nothing less than robbery, targeting the most vulnerable in society and keeping them in poverty, which itself is bad for the Solentian economy. By pursuing appropriate and fair tax policies which focus on business profits, we will relieve the burden on middle-class Solentians, increasing consumer purchasing, while ensuring the difference isn't shifted to poor and working-class people. However, we are not proposing penal tax rates, counter-productive to job and wealth creation. Nor do we believe increased public spending is the answer to all social problems. This is a prudent approach to investment, creating incentives in increased purchasing power, while ensuring large corporations pay their fair share, for the benefit of the many, not the few. |

Message | definitely agree with article 1 and 2.... am really against article 3, but a debate would be good. |

Message | Our Party wouldn't oppose the removal of Article 3, actually. We realise sales taxes on luxury goods are quite necessary - however, we reduced the level of taxation by two points as part of a broader move away from individual taxation. That said, our main priority is the abolition of tax on essential goods, in favour of profit taxes, so we will agree to your proposals if there are no third party objections. Nevertheless, let us state that the SSP doesn't believe that luxury taxes should be in any way punitive or excessive. The standing level of ten points, however, would be acceptable to us. So then. Would the CFAAP, or indeed other Parties, support this Tax Credit with the abolition of Article 3? |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
