Voting deadline: September 3251

Description[?]:

IN RESPONSE to international pressure by various international socialist and left wing movements, and by movements in neighbouring francophone nations to remove the monarchy of these nations.

RECOGNIZING that a hereditary and non-elected head-of-state brings greater stability to the political system of Rildanor.

FURTHER RECOGNIZING that the institution of the monarchy is a key institution and plays an important role in the construction of parliamentary democracy in Rildanor.

FURTHER RECOGNIZING that parliamentary democracy allows for real effective action and a clear means for a voice to the people, in which the executive and power is clearly apportioned and held by a group of people, with effective means to achieve the passing of legislation and implementation of policies, further allowing the electorate to make a clear judgement of their support or disapproval.

RECOGNIZING the institution of the monarch and the royal family, the House of Orléans-Vasser, plays a further role in affirming the unique culture of Rildanor.

TO AFFIRM the role of a symbolic hereditary head-of-state with largely symbolic powers and the institution of the monarchy, for the reasons of greater stability, democracy and the promotion of culture, as further stated, and in the pursuit of good governance:

The government of Rildanor and the Sénat, on behalf of the people of Rildanor hereby adopt the following provisions as a non-binding resolution.

1) The head-of-state of Rildanor shall be hereditary, passed down through the succession of the House of Orléans-Vasser, as regulated by the House of Orléans-Vasser, 2611 bill, which limits it to the heirs of Léopold Jean Tristan d'Orléans-Vasser, the son of Jean-Philippe d'Orléans and Isolde de Vasser, as determined by equal primogeniture, religion, and legitimate birth.

2) The powers and responsibilities of reigning monarch of Rildanor stem from the will of the people. As such, the monarch shall allow these powers and responsibilities to be used by the duly elected legislature of Rildanor, and by the appointed executive on the behalf of the monarch.

3) This resolution shall commit the Sénat, or an official legislature of Rildanor, to deny the passing of any legislation that would remove or abolish the monarchy, or replace the House of Orléans-Vasser as the royal family, unless the House of Orléans-Vasser ceases to have any legitimate successors.

4) This resolution shall commit the Sénat, or an official legislature of Rildanor, to affirm the system of parliamentary democracy built in Rildanor.

MessageThe PSD would like to propose the following non-binding resolution (non-binding because it essentially cannot be enforced, but rather seeks the commitment of the members and clearly states the position of this Government and the PSD) for the Sénat to consider.

OOC:
Please feel free to offer suggestion and feedback, because I understand that you have been instrumental/key to the creation and/or continuation of the monarchy.

MessageThe Parti de l'Aristocratie fully supports this resolution and welcomes the affirmation of Rildanor's strong parliamentary tradition and of the role of the entirely ceremonial, cultural, and politically non-interfering monarchy under the House of Orléans-Vasser.

OOC: We of course appreciate your continued support for the monarchy, despite your current supermajority. I have always left the monarchy symbolic, even when my party has dominated, to avoid accusations of interference from some groups. This has ensured its survival and has indeed contributed to Rildanor's culture, especially since we have used monarchy to expand our influence overseas, including other French nations whose royal houses descended from Rildanor's. We hope to continue our common support for this valued institution.
