MessageWe disagree on 4 and 5, perhaps those could be placed in seperate bills.
We disagree with 5 because we do not believe we should lower ourselves to the level of our enemy's, and we disagree with 4 because we think that stricter border control will be much more effective then wasting our money on searching people that somehow got in in the first place.

MessageMr. Speaker,

In the interest of forwarding this bill, articles four and five have been removed to a separate bill. (See B002). We ask the other parties if the amended bill is now reasonable for unanimous agreement. If not, we welcome debate on this bill.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Requiring all citizens to carry identity cards at all times strikes us as excessive and unnecessary, as well as illiberal. The security situation does not justify it. Also, given that Telamon does not currently have an ID card scheme, introducing such a system would be expensive and bureaucratic.

We cannot support the proposed legal reform which allows the Minister of Justice to interfere with the right to appeal. Every citizen convicted of crime should have the right to have the verdict reconsidered, whether the Minister of Justice likes it or not.

Article 3 is less unreasonable. If this Article was being voted on its own, we might be amenable to supporting it, although we would need to listen to the arguments closely.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Perhaps the CPU will be willing to explain to the citizens of this great nation why we couldn't stop the next attack on Telamonese soil? Because, let's face it: in today's intense and violent geopolitical scene, and with our current military and police laws, we are completely open to attack. We cannot accept this, and although I can see the point of our honorable member from the Catholic Political Union, I must ask our members what is better: our citizens having to carry a card or our citizens being dead? I'd rather be safe than sorry, and institute the cards. And I should remind the CPU that we currently have a 40 billion TPD surplus, surrely 10 million can be used to increase the safety of our citizens?

Simply put, Article 2 is to enhance our legal system. Right now, we have an over-crowded legal system where many criminals are being released because of prison waiting times. With this, the Minister of Justice would be able to stream-line the proces by deciding if the appeal has merit. It is basically the same as a judge deciding.

Simply put on Article 3, it is a safety measure in case of, God forbid, an attack on Telamonese soil. Should it happen, we must be able to quickly and efficiently put into place a system of curfew to protect our citizens. Nationalizing it is simply a safety measure.

Now, Mr. Speaker, we realize that this Bill is perhaps a little intense for our great nation. So, we would recommmend adding a clause that states:

Clause A - The following articles should be reviewed each election cycle by the current ruling party of Telamon and decided whether or not to continue using the laws. Recommendations will be filed by the Red Police Party and the Minister of Defense at the time.

Therefor, should the situation worldwide descalate, as we hope it shall, than these regulations could be re-thought for the new geopolitical situation. However, as of right now, these are laws that need to be put in place to protect our citizens.

Thank You.
