MessageMr. Speaker,

We strongly oppose this bill. We need these in order to maintain safety and stability for our citizens. Losing these weapons opens us as weak to the international community, and this is not a safe time to be weak.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Nuclear weapons do not make us safe. Rather, they make us a target and contribute to the climate of international fear which encourages other nations to build up nuclear weapons. To use a nuclear weapon is immoral, and if it is immoral to use a nuclear weapon then it is immoral to stock and produce them. We need to resolve problems diplomatically and peaceably. Nuclear war is not an answer.

MessageMr. Speaker,

We applaud the concerns of the CPU, but we strongly wish to make sure that the Parliament knows this is not the time or place to make these changes. We offer that we revisit these articles and suggestions once things have calmed down internationally.
