Details

Status[?]: passed

Voting deadline: January 3266
Description[?]:
The crime rates for Telamon need to go down, and this is the solution. We must patrol properties at all times to discourage criminal activity. The simple truth is that with more police on the streets, the streets will become safer for our innocent civilians. This is about saving lives and preventing harm to our great nation. We must also ban all recreational drugs. This drugs have been shown to harm mental thinking capabilities and to scew judgement. Somebody who has taken dangerous drugs more than 5 times is 50% more likely to commit a crime, and those are stats that we should be scared of. Reducing the drugs in our society will only help our citizens. Finally, we must record all of our citizens DNA. We are far behind other Terran nations in this accord and other national police agencies have seen tremendous improvement in crime rates when they have all the answers. This a means of bringing justice to the crimes we cannot stop. We put forward this bill for consideration in the Parliament. |

Message | This is a dangerous step towards facism but not towards true safety. Outlawing recreational drug use? Telamon is not a crime-ridden place such as Dundorf, these measures will only burden the economy. The IRP supports the enslavement of all convicted prisoners and harshness on crime but not at the expense of the good citizens of Telamon. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Not towards true safety? We completely disagree with the honorable member from the IRP. Simply put, this bill helps eliminate the obstacles facing crime prevention and justice. These are measures shown to lower crime and death rates. Unless the IRP stands for criminal activity and injustice, we recommend that they consider these measuees as crime prevention steps necessary for the continual safety of our great citizens. Without these laws, we are welcoming crime and death rates to continue to rise. And that is something the IRP, and all of Telamon, should not tolerate. |

Message | But could the capital applied to payign a massive police force be applied to reducing death rates and increasing safety, citizen watch groups should be responsible for local safety while the police serve as a smaller more potent force. It is immoral to force citizens to record their DNA and be denied consumption fo recreational drugs and inneficient to fund such a huge police force when civilians can do most of their work for free. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Obviously the honorable member from the IRP has missed a couple important civic, history and pyschology classes. First of all, while civic duty may be okay for reporting a fire or crime, asking citizens to stop an armed robbery or fight of crooks with rifles is most certainly not. Secondly, human pyschology tells us that the majority of citizens are not likely to stop a crime. We need a larger, better armed, and less-restricted police force to better stabilize this great nation. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We strongly support the proposal to tighten up our drug laws. Heroin, cocaine, ketamine, ecstasy and other substances are causing untold harm in our communities, and are a significant contributor to crime, mental health problems and family breakdown. The proposal to record the DNA of all citizens is excessive, unnecessary and would be very expensive to implement. Civil liberties groups are concerned about the possibilities for abuse inherent in such a scheme, and we share their concerns. The proposal to obligate the police to patrol all areas of public property at all times is simply silly. The police have limited resources, and they need to prioritise how to use those resources to maximum effectiveness. A policeman patrolling an isolated patch of wasteland in the middle of nowhere will probably on average catch a criminal only once every 600 years. Leroy Adams (Chairman of the CPU) |

Message | Mr. Speaker, The record of DNA is a necessary step in providing justice. We cannot allow justice to pass, and any crime to go unsolved or terrorist act unstopped simply because we do not want our DNA in a database. The government holds our financial data, why not our DNA? And patrolling all property is not at all silly. What's silly is to attempt to say that private property will go unpatrolled. We must be able to quickly respond to any area, and this bill is a step in the right direction. Our police needs less restrictions, and this is a must-have. |

Message | Mr Speaker, I was referring to paramilitary groups no unarmed citizens. Paramilitary forces have served Telamon very effectively in the past and will continue to do so in the future. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, This Bill will not be able to pass before the sitting of Parliament is interrupted for the election in April. When the new Parliament begins, we hope the RRP will put forward the Article outlawing recreational drugs in a separate Bill. Leroy Adams (Chairman of the CPU) |

Message | Mr. Speaker, First of all, we would like to congratulate all the political parties of Telamon. We had a very successful election, and with a turnout rate of 87%, we have jointly reinvigorated political life into this great nation. We would also like to thank the citizens of Telamon for electing us as the official Opposition Party. That said, we will be submitting this bill for the voting procedure, but in the request of the Catholic Political Union, we will be submitting Article 3 (Restrictions on Drug Use) into a new bill. This is our way of extending poltiical comprimise and our willingness to work with any party for the betterment of Telamon. Thank You. Tyler Difan Honorary Minister of Defense |
