MessageMr Speaker,

We agree with the DAP and are happy to support this bill. We must ensure that Telamon is at the forefront and cutting edge of scientific research and this means allowing the use of cloning for research purposes, whilst ensuring that its use is strictly regulated. The current blanket ban is not helpful.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Human life is sacred and should be treated with the respect it deserves. Catholic teaching supports non-embryonic stem cell research, but is strongly opposed to research using embryos. Unless the legislation makes the appropriate distinctions, we will be unable to support it.
