MessageOOC: I just posted a news story on the Telamon Morning Post.

Mr. Speaker,

We call upon the Minister of Justice to investigate the hate crimes in parading monarchist supporters around naked. It is inexcusable that law-abiding monarchists should be subject to such persecution.

MessageOOC: Thats a good piece, i'll post it here.

TELAPOLIS -- Eadric Tiberius Stafford, known to his followers as King Eadric the Conqueror, is the leader of an insurgent political party called the House of Stafford. The House of Stafford describes itself in campaign literature and on it's campaign website as monarchists, but many parties have accused House Stafford of being fascist, racist wannabe dictators who bring out the worst in Telamon's citizenry. The Minister of Justice Monica Martinez has issued a warrant for the arrest of Stafford, and the Communist Party of Telamon has accused House Stafford of assassinating a prominent CPT leader.

Mr. Stafford, claimant to the historic Iron Throne of Telamon, has replied to this criticism with vitriol and blatant denial. "We are a legitimate political party in Telamon," says Stafford, "and we're here to stay. I admit to ordering the assassination of the Communist leader, and couldn't be happier. We're better off without him, and I plan on ordering more assassinations in the coming weeks."

This comes amid growing concerns that the House of Stafford is engaged in illegal paramilitary operations in Migadon, coupled with their claim of smuggling illegal weaponry through Likatonia. Eadwyn Thorne, Lord Commander of the King's Guard and influential House of Stafford military leader, admitted to such action on the floor of Parliament on Friday. In addition to illegal paramilitary operations and weapons smuggling, Thorne admitted to using party funds to start a defense company called Luxford-Thorne Industries. Luxford-Thorne has a small office in Telapolis but bases most manufacturing in the Great Kingdom of Tukarali, where corporate tax rates are only 15% and 1 Telamon pound is worth 23 Tukar, making labor much cheaper. In the initial public offering on the Sangon Stock Exchange, Luxford-Thorne Industries (LTI) raised over 1.2 billion Tukar, or 50.88 million Telamon pounds. A total of 51.4 million common shares were sold at a price of 24 Tukar per share. The offering was seen as a bargain among most of the world's financial elite. Luxford-Thorne specializes in ballistic missiles, fighter aircraft and IT systems.

Professor of Political Science at Migadon State University, Dr. Lleyton Young, expressed his concern at this news. "The House of Stafford has tapped into the growing frustration from conservatives, entrepreneurs and high-income earners that taxes are too high and regulations are too strict. Unfortunately, it has been so long since they were actually represented that they support military action against the other parties that don't support their goals. They don't believe that they will ever get their way if they don't support such action."

It is truly a departure from civility as the supporters of the CPT and HoS clash in the streets. After the killing of a prominent Communist leader, enraged communists dragged monarchist supporters from their homes and paraded them around naked in the communist friendly regions of Antepec and Lirona. In response to these atrocities, riots erupted in the monarchist stronghold of Telapolis, as well as other cities in the monarchist friendly region of Ferene and Migadon. Despite a strong reaction from local police officers and the cooperation of the LFT to control protesters, the riots have continued and there are doubts as to whether they can be stopped. In the last elections, the House of Stafford took the regions of Migadon and Ferene with 40.48% and 39.69%, respectively.

It remains to be seen if Mr. Eadric Stafford will use this conflict to his advantage and authorize military aid to protesters. With the nation on the brink of civil war, the citizens of Telamon and leaders across the political spectrum in Parliament believe a peaceful agreement can be reached and press Mr. Stafford to restrain his supporters and let the voters decide in next year's elections.

MessageCommunist 'gangs' have been formed trying to protect Communist neighbourhoods/regions and leaders. A official party statement reads 'We can not rely on the state to defend our people, we must primarily and foremost do it ourselves'. In response to the public humiliation of monarchists the party stated "We understand the sentiment but believe that such attacks should not be directed at regular Monarchist detractors, this will merely alienate them and drive them further into the hands of these reactionary pigs. However, attack is a good form of defence and as such we state that attacks on Monarchist militants are neither condoned nor condemned."

MessageMr. Speaker,

I am very sorry to learn of the shocking murder of a prominent Communist Party leader in Lirona, and can well understand the feelings of outrage and anger amongst the Communist community. However, I am also very unhappy that a number of Communist Party members have reacted to this tragedy in a violent and unconstructive way, and I regard it as inexcusable that the Communist Party leadership have failed to condemn and rein in this behaviour. The Communist leadership must be reminded that they head a multi-party coalition which is committed to peace and democratic constitutionalism. Their response to this crisis undermines the rule of law, and makes it impossible for the Catholic Political Union to continue in its support of a Communist-led government. We are therefore withdrawing our ministers from the government and calling for a General Election.
