Bill: Resignation of the Defence Minister
Details
Submitted by[?]: House Stafford
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: February 3277
Description[?]:
This legislation calls for the resignation of the Minister of Defence, General Tyler Difan, due to the defiance he expressed on the floor of the Parliament. General Difan claimed he would take steps to implement the articles of MoIA: Security at Risk - Measures to Protect Citizens whether or not the Parliament passed said legislation. General Difan said this on the floor of the Parliament: "Due to the threat to national security posed by these individuals, the Armed Forces will continue operations on Migadon regardless of the outcome of this vote. At this time, these individuals are breaking laws and national security violations, and as such the Courts are the only power to stop response actions. All parts of this bill will be put into place immediately." This is unacceptable, and if General Difan will not resign, this legislation presses President Simon to propose a new cabinet, without the Red Police Party holding the Defence Ministry. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, House Stafford have a nerve accusing the Defence Minister of showing "defiance" towards Parliament when House Stafford are at this very moment commiting acts of war against Parliament's democratic authority. General Difan's comments need to be interpreted within the context in which they were made. The motion was calling for parliamentary support for efforts to curb the insurgency. It was not a motion on whether or not the government should defend itself against the vicious attacks going on all over the country by House Stafford. We think it goes without saying that when a paramilitary group turns on our citizens and our government, our police and army are duty-bound to respond. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, My parliamentary colleagues should also be reminded about the "defiance" expressed by the Leader of House Stafford after Parliament voted for his arrest: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=342101 House Stafford do not deserve to be taken seriously. They have no respect for the authority of Parliament, and only appeal to parliamentary niceties when it suits them. |

Message | We should be taken seriously. And yes, we have no respect for Parliament and only appeal to parliamentary niceties when it suits us. Totally agree. |
