Message | You try to separate the military and the people, which is blatantly false! Isn't national security in the interest of the people that you pretend to benefit with this reform? Our nation's security and strength must not be put at risk in favor of weak pacifist policies. Park Bo-Sung (GNP) Minister of Defence |
Date | 18:47:34, March 28, 2012 CET | From | Unity | To | Debating the Unity Military Proposals |
Message | What delusion and blatant untruths. This bill will do nothing to weaken our conventional defence forces - nothing whatsoever. On the contrary, it strengthens it by making the nation more independent from private interests in the supply of armaments. What it will do is show that our nation is not willing to waste its resources on the mindless race into the abyss that is weapons of mass destruction, and also keeping our weapons exports out of the hands of dictators and terrorists abroad rather than a "free-for-all" spread. No party truly acting in the interests of human rights can oppose this. Daniel Rhodas Spokesman on defence |

Message | What a policy, Mr. Rhodas! Trying to denounce the benefits of the private sector involvement in our armed forces! Have you ever made up your mind to the vast amount of tax money private companies save the taxpayer with their supply of arms? And the free export of weapons ensures profit from abroad, which benefits all of us by bringing in revenue to the state finances! Park Bo-Sung (GNP) Minister of Defence |
Date | 20:08:41, March 28, 2012 CET | From | Unity | To | Debating the Unity Military Proposals |
Message | So you consider weapons exports to dictatorships and terrorists perfectly acceptable as long as we get paid? Well, that's a policy I guess... although not one held by anyone holding human rights as something more than an empty catchphrase. And no, the private sector does not save the taxpayers anything, since we still have to purchase the weapons they produce. Daniel Rhodas Spokesman on defence |
