Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 3280
Description[?]:
Mr Speaker, We do not find that government intervention in the area of daily working hours is productive. Nor should we nessasarily oblige Unions to negotiate this with employers. If people wish to work longer (or shorter) hours, then we should not prevent them. There is no doubt there will be some negotiation between employer and employees regarding this, sometimes with trade union involvement. We therefore propose that the government take no direct interest in who decides on what, as long as people are duely compensated for the hours they are working to a standard they are satisfied with. |
