These proposals where voted down in the previous legislature but are, in our view, necessary and a good step for the nation. Seeing that the parties supporting it four years ago now hold a majority in the chamber, we would like to re-introduce them. |

Message | We firmly oppose big government and a welfare state, but in this specific case, we believe spending is necessary to encourage population growth, which is beneficial in several ways. It ensures the stability of our pension system and basic services, while also providing workforce for the economy and more tax revenue, which outweighs the expenses for child benefits. The alternative would be raising taxes, which we could never support. Moreover, the principle of financial self-reliance that we firmly embrace can not be applied to children. Therefore, we approve this bill. Janine Trichet GNP Parliamentary Group Leader |

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself. |
