Message | The tax rate on everyday goods is already very low. By maintaining a flat tax on luxury goods, we can also make them affordable for parts of the middle class, which will again result in increased consumption in other branches. We are therefore opposed to this bill. Mario Lavazza GNP Spokesman for Finance |
Date | 08:26:51, April 06, 2012 CET | From | Unity | To | Debating the Tax Reform Bill |
Message | Low or not, it remains a fact that you have to pay taxes on the most necessary items in life, pushing up their prices and disproportionally hitting the poor and disadvantaged. This bill will merely shift taxes to an all-luxury item taxation regime, which will mean fairer taxes for everyone. Dafydd Swift Spokesman on finance |

Message | Once more, we consider the current tax system more than fair. We cut income tax on a very low level for everyone, and a small fee on consumption is therefore justified. Mario Lavazza GNP Spokesman for Finance |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
Random quote: "Those who are responsible for the national security must be the sole judges of what the national security requires. It would be obviously undesirable that such matters should be made the subject of evidence in a court of law or otherwise discussed in public." - Unattributed member of the the House of Lords on the removal of trade union rights |
