Bill: Bill for the Progression of our Independence, Culture and Liberty.

Details

Submitted by[?]: Trzykrnadrkjogadsrlji Bltmojad

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 3292

Description[?]:

The Imperial Union believes a monarch needs to return to Vanuku. Our party also believes we need our independence and liberty. Currently our democracy is flawed; only the head of state can propose a government and citizens do not even elect their own mayor! Last, but certainly not least, is restoring a bit of Vanukuian culture by re-introducing the golden eagle as our national animal.

The reason we have chosen to propose the abandonment of the ATR is the fact they don't allow us to appoint a monarch. And we shouldn't be pushed around by some bullies up high in some organization that does not care for our nation!

OOC: Also proposed a cabinet's term to 3 years, because it's more fun!

MessageI hope that the ARV will agree to the changes we propose, only one of them is extreme and that is withdrawing from the ATR. But one could wonder what the ATR ever did for Vanuku. Because all we can find is lists of death Vanukuian troops who fought for the ATR.

MessageThe ARVP can find itself in most of the suggestions made by the KU. The only problem we have with this bill are articles 1 and 6. The ARVP feels that withdrawing from the ATR will hamper our ability to influence the course of that organization. As for article 6, we do not oppose it directly, but we fear a term period of 3 years might be to short for the Government to effectively carry out government policies.

OOC: I thought that i had changed article 2 allready, but i guess i thought wrong. As this bill needs a 2/3 majority to pass and seeing that the only way to reach that is with the support of the NLF, a party that i suspect will go inactive in a few days, i will vote no and ask the KU to propose this bill again after the elections in July 3294.

MessageI can speak for our whole party when I say I respect the decision made by the ARV, we know article 1 is a heavy one but we deem it necessary to reach our goal. We believe in a democracy but not in a republic like we have now, the emperor deserves his throne.

OOC: Will re-propose in a few RL days then, no problem. Please look at article 6 in an OOC matter; it will greatly spice up gameplay. Now the waiting between new elections take quite long and you can certainly get things done in 3 years; Roman consuls only got 1 year.

Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there.
