MessageThe GDV will not support this Bill. As is the case in many (real life) countries the largest party in the parliament gets plurality in the formation of a coalition government. As the larger majority of Vorona voted for the GDV it would seem undemocratic if the Head of State (in this case a member of the SLP) were to form a government coalition which may exclude the larger party for his/her own gain. To be honest the GDV is this Bill as an attempt by the SLP to remain in government even though they lost out to an another party in the elections.

MessageFact is fact: the people of Vorona wants, and have voted for, a SLP President to lead this country. I don't believe it will be efficient if a President has to preside over a conflicting Cabinet consisting of a party that is out to grab full power of this nation so quickly after the election, by ways and means such as abolishing the constitutional powers of the President to make him a figurehead.

MessageIt is not true that Barack Obama has manage to remain in the Office of President of the USA even though his own party lost control in the House of Representives, I see no problem in you being President with having two other parties in Government. Plus I don't know what your saying about me trying to gain control over the country when you yourself have put forward a Bill that makes you the sole person who can decide who goes into government right after I propose a Bill that would include the GDV and UVP in a coalition, leaving your party in opposition. I'm working on the experience of the country were I live (Ireland) were it is the largest party elected that forms the government, plus our president is a figurehead as well which is no problem to us.

MessagePresident Mitterrand of France (which has a semi-presidential system) was of a different party with the Cabinet for some years. If you see no problem in me being President, you wouldn't have pushed forward a bill proposing the 'neutering' of the Presidency, and try to minimise my role in governance.

MessageI was trying to limit your power for this term but rather have this come into affect after the next election, whoever is elected president then wouldn't be in charge of the government. It was mainly to avoid complications when the Head of State and the largest party are two different parties. I thought that this Bill wouldn't take effect till after the next election, since the present President was elected using the system still in use

MessageRegardless, the SLP saw it as a hostile attempt in trying to limit the Presidency's powers.

MessageUnited Vorona supports this amendment in the interest of the separation of powers of the Voronan government. The President has the right to be surrounded by ministers that he is comfortable with. This bill does nothing to weaken the opposition's legislative powers.

MessageAs we noted previously, however, this is a moot vote as the GDV holds well over 1/3 of the legislature and thus has veto power over this amendment.
