| The Minimum Wage is a devastating piece of legislation not only to the economy of Al'Badara but to the workers who it is supposed to protect. The Minimum Wage encourages unemployment as companies cannot take on as many workers, and I am sure that the workers would rather be earning some money than no money. It makes it harder for untrained people to find jobs, as certain jobs may not be worth the minimum wage and replaced. The increased labour cost means more money lost from companies which manifests itself in various ways. First, increased unemployment as mentioned. Also goods will probably increase in price, meaning that the workers money is worth less than before the minimum wage law was implemented. Also foreign nations with no minimum wage law may take away a lot of jobs from Al'Badara. Finally, we feel it decreases the incentive for untrained workers to learn new skills and improve themselves. |

Current: There shall be a minimum wage at a level considered a "living wage," well above the poverty line for a full time worker.
