Bill: MP Representation Act, May 3300

Details

Submitted by[?]: Green Democrats (GD)

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3301

Description[?]:

Following a proposal by the SLP regional assemblies and local councils are being set up across Vorona. With this in mind the GDV proposes that the number of MPs in the National Parliament to be decreased to 300 i.e. roughly one MP per 100,000 people. This change will compliment the creation of two 500 seat assemblies in each region. The National Parliament does not need to be so large when each region is well represented in their own assemblies and councils. The National Parliament can now deal with purely national issues. The GDV feel that the National Parliament no longer be 750 seats but 300 instead, in time for the next election.

Random fact: RP laws follow the same passing rules as in-game variable laws. Laws that are not of a constitutional nature require a simple majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. Laws that are of a constitutional nature require a 2/3 majority "Yes" vote from active parties currently holding seats. RP laws may be abolished a simple majority vote this applies to ANY RP law.
