MessageOOC: Article 2 has something to do with the aristocratic culture.
Each house controls its own military through the parishes they dominate.

Adamsons control the royalist militaries in Negunia and Parlos Decina.
Karavs control the royalist militaries in Iker Ado and Bailon.
The Williams family controls royalist militaries in Iliathar.

MessageA professional miltary does not necessarily require the abolishment of a national service requirement. The current system provides an option for those who are pacifist in nature. National defense service should be viewed as a universal responsiblity not as "part of OOC: Article 2 has something to do with the aristocratic culture."

MessageWe thank the House of Amistad for that important point; national defence is a universal responsibility.

MessageThe current law on paramilitaries which would cover what you're saying is 'Paramilitaries are allowed as part of each political party', so it wouldn't be affected.

If people do not wish to serve their Parishes or their nation in any sort of way then they should have the freedom to choose not to. Of course, such a decision should be frowned upon but it is the individual's decision on how they contribute to society.

MessageArticle 2 would still affect it...
Paramilitaries, that are aligned to royal families, may only be from parishes controlled by their aligned house.
A House can only have paramilitaries in a parish which it dominates.
If article 2 is put into effect, that entire concept will change; we calculate paramilitaries in a special way.

MessageThere would be a national military, but its size could be limited. I think you're exaggerating the extent that it will have an effect. Heck, you could even pass a bill limiting the number of troops it may possess if you want a limited effect.

MessageOOC: That has nothing to do with it.
The current law has nothing to do with limiting the national military.

You're not understanding what I'm saying -_-
We already have a federal military that's average size, but you're taking away the house control of parish militaries, and putting us back into to common system where a house can have paramilitaries anywhere. It just kills Beluzia's unique aristocratic theme.
