Description[?]:
Issue: The governments policy towards the funding of libraries Current position: The national government controls a vast and comprehensive system of public libraries. Proposed position: The national government contracts with private companies to maintain a system of libraries. Rationale: The current cost of these vast systems is unsustainable in the long-term. To prevent them falling into disrepair we need to promote private investment (properly supervised & regulated) in order to ensure their long term survival. |
