Bill: Pensions and Savings Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Solentian Socialist Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2150

Description[?]:

At the present time, "the state does not operate a pension system. Individuals must save up for retirement on their own." This discriminates against the poor and working class, whose lower incomes means they are unable to save money, and is wholly unethical.

The SSP believes the government should introduce "a compulsory, public pension system" to ensure the disadvantaged are looked after in their elder years, and that nobody must ever worry about going without life's essentials in their old age.
