Bill: Standards Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Communist Party of Kafuristan

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2151

Description[?]:

No longer shall our children waste valued school time in order to sing Auferstanden aus Ruinen.
The children shall never be required to sing it at school. Schools are for education, not propoganda.

No longer shall the people be restricted on things such as industrial hemp manufacture and recreational drugs.
Pabeus does not have an elected parliamentary system to ensure civil and economic rights.

No longer shall some kids go to school and learn nothing due to a lack of standards.
All schools shall have education standards, so all students have access to a good education.

No longer shall our police torture any person at will.
We must protect our people. No more torture.

And no longer shall college be way too expensive for some lesser-privileged.
We shall subsidize slightly the expenses of low-income or poor families' students.

MessageThat is a slight stretch to say OSLP endorses torture, however I do not see any reason to oppose this reform. My only guess as to why the OSLP would oppose this is the requirement of schooling instead of home school.

(We all know how home-schoolers turn out, though)

MessageWe oppose:

- Prohibition of homeschooling
- Prohibition of extradition treaties
- Regulation of private higher education
- Regulation of private primary and secondary education

Seeing as how we oppose 40% of this bill, we simply cannot accept it. Mixing social and structural reform is always a bad idea when you want me to support it, since we're quite far apart on the latter.
