Bill: Commercial Nudity Laws
Details
Submitted by[?]: Beluz Democratic Karavist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 3321
Description[?]:
Article 1: We hope this is acceptable in all parishes. If not, we would be open to criticism. By restricting nudity to nude beaches (which would be private, and therefore attract entry fees), we can ensure income from such beaches. Public nudity is quite disturbing to some people. 63.91% of citizens are against public nudity. 25.13% consider it a civil offence. Why not allow nudists to gather in a public, open space, away from their homes? They, like other social groups, want somewhere to hang out; a nudist beach is the place. Article 2: There needs to be more government concern with the pornography industry, to ensure no actors or actresses are being abused. Human trafficking and slavery may be disguised. It's not "any other business" because the service is provided through the use of human bodies. We need to ensure consent is given, by the actors and actresses. There is a difference between ensuring consent, and assuming consent. We don't know if anyone is being forced to do anything they do not want to. Some producers care more about meeting demand than caring supply. Article 3: The Karavs don't recognize prostitution as a profession. It is very much against our conscience to do so, as we think that the job is too degrading for the government to consider it to be taxable. Simply choosing, to not recognize it, will make prostitues exempt from income tax. |

Message | What gives you the right to keep me from selling my body? You intend to keep prostitution legal but not treat it as a business that is conservative crap. If the government demonizes prostitution then it should make it illegal not keep it in some form of career limbo. You claim pornography is used for sex trafficking but last time I checked that wasn't legal in any business. Pornography is subject to the same regulations as everything else as it should. |

Message | That is not conservative crap. I do not have the right to keep you from selling your body, and I won't keep you from selling your body. If you were more literate, you would see that the bill is saying prostitution is allowed, but we will not recognise it as a legal profession because we do not want to tax it. And about your human trafficking point - people will do things whether they're legal or not. We never said human trafficking is legal, but that's the point. Something, being illegal, doesn't stop persons from doing it. In "any other business" we don't regulate the individual products, but in pornography, we would like to see much more regulations: - Actors and Actresses should be registered; they should be able to sign contracts in calm environments without intimidation - Actors and Actresses should have personal space when not on the job. - Actors and Actresses should be able to terminate contracts on early notice, however, they can be required to pay the necessary party (whether their contractor or producer) for inconvenience caused by sudden termination. - Healtchare expenses, related to their performance in the industry, should be subsidized. |
